CAPM Exam Preparation

CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) is a type of entry test offered by PMI (Project Management Institute). CAPM is similar to PMP. This test has certain criteria and has to be passed by the eligible candidates to get certified in their field. CAPM assesses the candidate’s professional knowledge and experience of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). CAPM’s exam preparation, in this regard, centers primarily on PMBOK® Guide i.e. A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Exam Details

CAPM is a computer-based test. Allotted time to complete the test is three hours. It consists of 150 multiple choice questions. PMI does not provide percentage result for candidates. It provides the result as Proficient, Moderately Proficient, and Below Proficient. Where:

  • Proficient means that the result is above average in this domain.
  • Moderately Proficient means that the score is average in this domain.
  • Below Proficient means that the score is below the average score in this domain.

Exam preparation and PMI R.E.P.

For examination preparation PMI has introduced R.E.P. in 1999. R.E.P. means Registered Education Provider. The PMI R.E.P. Program has defined criteria of quality and procedure guidelines for all participating Education Providers. PMI approved there courses and hours of training as eligible. Whether you chose to prepare for CAPM through one of PMI R.E.P or by yourself, the focusing point of preparation is PMBOK Guide.
